As today’s version of the scrap quilt, a T-shirt quilt is about the person who collected those shirts. My clients have had quilts made as graduation gifts, to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, to blend families at a marriage, as a tribute to someone who has passed away, or a transformation from laundry to legacy when down-sizing. These are the heirlooms of tomorrow, full of family stories.

“Thanks to the support of a generous grant from the Montgomery County Arts & Humanities Council in 2016, Lauren created a series of 28 x 72” double -sided quilt panels to honor the inspirations behind her professional work as a quilt artist. They were originally exhibited in the Takoma Park, MD Municipal Building and subsequently at Iona in Washington D.C.”
